Blacksmith shop Our working blacksmith shop is home to the Orange County Blacksmith Guild. The guild graciously allows our docents to use the shop in some of our tours to discuss and demonstrate the historical significance of blacksmithing. Participants learn how blacksmiths crafted useful and decorative items from iron, how the apprenticeship system worked, and other interesting facts about this important trade.
Our Eco-Art Center focuses on nature, ecology, and environmental responsibility. Program participants learn about the natural history of Orange County, with emphasis on wetlands and water conservation. They discover the "Five Rs" of protecting the environment: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Restore, and Responsibility. The room also serves as a studio for creating works of art from recycled materials.
